The Amba crosses mainly in Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atoll, but also regularly offers special tours to Baa Atoll. There is the popular Manta and whale shark point"Hanifaru". In addition, special tours to the Raa Atoll, as well as some "Best of Maldives" tours for the start of the season in September will be held from Male, where no domestic flight is required. Remote reefs with manta rays and sharks, but also stingrays, guitar rays. Leopard sharks and a variety of otherwise typical for Indonesia "critters" invite you to unforgettable dives. Especially since the last El Nino destroyed a lot of the hard corals in the Maldives, not only the underwater photographers appreciate the big, colorful fields of soft corals in the north of the Maldives even more.
2 to 3 dives are offered daily as well as one night dive per week (total on a 7 nights tour at least 17 dives). The dive sites are chosen with great care and a detailed briefing in German, English and Italian prepares the divers for the dive.
Nitrox is on board and highly recommended (in case of failure of the Nitrox no recourse). Nitrox courses are also offered on board. Rebreather divers are welcome. Lime and oxygen can be provided.
We dive only from Diving-Dhoni. The equipment is permanently on the Diving-Dhoni.
Our dive dhoni we have specially adapted to the wishes of our divers ... generous space, several exits, walk-sundeck, and a fast motorization.
The filling system on the Amba consists of 2 Bauer compressors and a Chicago Phneumatics nitrox membrane system. We have about 40 pieces of 80 cbf (12 liters) aluminum bottles and 6 pieces of 15 liter aluminum bottles on board, all with Din-valve.
For guests with Int-tanks we recommend bringing the screw-in adapter and allen key.
Weight, bottles and diveguide are included. Dives in the Maldives are limited to a max. Diving depth of 30 meters. Decompression dives are prohibited.
The carrying of a dive computer and a buoy is mandatory. Likewise the carrying of a lamp during night dives. We recommend a dive light and a reef hook with each dive. Diving during a liveaboard safari is more demanding (sometimes strong current) than house reef diving and therefore every diver must have actually dives and totally min. 30-50 dives. A diving accident insurance is required. For insurance reasons, divers with PADI OWD (or equivalent) up to max. dive 18 meters depth, this can mean the exclusion of various dives. Diving equipment, as well as diving lamps are not available on the Amba to borrow or to buy. On arrival and departure (Sunday) is not dived.
We offer Advanced Open Water Diver and Nitrox courses according to PADI guidelines. Likewise, a private dive guide (instructor) can be booked. Further courses, prices and availability on request.
